Martti Ahtisaari

                                                                    Hi readers!

Today, I'm going to talk about the Peace Novel prize winner in 2008: Martti Ahtisaari. Last day we look for the Novel Prize winners of the last 12 years (if you want to look who are click here), and then we had to choose one of those and write an article about him.
Martti Ahtisaari was born in the 23 of June of 1937. He is a Finnish politician, the tenth President of Finland (1994–2000), Nobel Peace Prize laureate and United Nations diplomat and mediator, noted for his international peace work.

Ahtisaari was a UN Special Envoy at the Kosovo status process negotiations, aimed at resolving a long dispute in Kosovo, which declared its independence from Serbia in 2008. In October 2008, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for his efforts on several continents and over more than three decades, to resolve international conflicts". The Nobel statement said that Ahtisaari has played a prominent role in resolving many conflicts in Namibia; Aceh, Indonesia; Kosovo and Iraq, among other areas.

Collaborative stories

Hi readers!

These days we have been doing collavorative stories: one person starts doing the begining of his story and selecting the genre of it. Then, the partners of the group continues the story until the end. We were 6 in the group (goup D), and here you can see the original story, with different colours to know who wrote what. Here you have my story:

What I am?

One dark and terrifying halloween night, the young Paul was walking back home in the empty streets of Atlanta, USA. He was dressed up like a skeleton. When he arrived home he fell asleep instantly as he was very tired. Suddenly, in the middle of the sleep, he waked because he felt cold. He looked at his arms, and he suprisely realized that they became into bones. Paul thought that it was just a nightmare and he fell asleep again. Next morning, he realized that it wasn’t just a nightmare, the true was that he became into a real skeleton.

My trip to England

Hi readers!
In my second post I want to write about my trip to England this summer. Last year I won a grant of The Basque Government to go to England, to learn more English. I'm sure that everybody knows where is England but if somebody doesn't know that England is part of The United Kingdom (UK) in Great Britain.

I went to a small town (for them, because it has 40.000 inhabitants and my town has less than the half 18.000) called Exmouth. It is a port town and seaside resort in East Devon, sited on the east bank of the mouth of the River Exe. It is a pretty town with very nice people and enough shops. And more important, it is very near of Exeter, a city that is great for spending time: it has a bowling alley, historical monuments like a big cathedral... and also is great for shopping.

We went a basque group formed by 30 people, we all went with the scholarship. We were led by two leaders: one was from Anoeta and the other form Gasteiz.
